A new species of Eugenia from southeastern Brazil
New Species | Magnoliopsida

Eugenia L. It is a genre with a large number of species belonging to the family Myrtaceae. I estimated about 500 species have been found in South America, 350 species cited in Brazil.

Eugenia marambaiensis MCSouza & MPMorim is a tree 7 m high. Leaves elliptic with the cuneiform. Blossom type Raceme, axillary or terminal. Fruit is a Baca 15 mm in diameter, red at maturity.

The species is present in southern Brazil (Rio di Janeiro) until west of Marambaia Restinga.

In Turkey the genus Dianthus consists in 71 species, two subspecies and 12 varieties (Reeve, 1967, Davis, Mill & Tan, 1988; Guner et al., 2000; Menemeni & Hamzaoglu, 2000; Aytaç & Duman, 2004).

 
Four new species of Maranta L. Marantaceae in Brazil

Family Marantaceae species are distributed, the majority of 80% in tropical regions, 11% in Asia and 9% in Africa (Hammel, 1986). The family includes about 530 species and 31 genera, are the most widespread genus Calathea.
