A new species of Lathyrus L. in Turkey

The new species, Lathyrus egirdiricus H. Gens & A. Sahin. (Fabaceae), was found in around 2004-2006 Pinus forests in Isparta, Turkey.

Lathyrus egirdiricus - voluble species annual, 45-75 cm. Leaves linear-lanceolata with nervatiuni parallel stipele semi-sagittal. Corola open purple color, glabra. And blooms from May to July build. The species endemic in Egirdir of Isparta province in southwestern Turkey. The population is in very good condition, there are only 50-100 copies.

Habitat - on lawns around the forests of Pinus, at 1000-1200 m altitude.

Lathyrus egirdiricus resemble the Lathyrus cassius

Lathyrus egirdiricus has leaves with parallel nervatiune and Lathyrus cassius has nervatiune Pinata parallel.

Lathyrus egirdiricus whose leaves linear-lanceolata, and Lathyrus cassius has narrow linear leaves.

Lathyrus egirdiricus is similar to other species of the genus, the different in color and number of flowers, fruit shape, nervatiunii type, length and width stipelelor.
