Synonim– Common name(s)– 熱帶鐵莧菜, Arittamanjarie, copperleaf, Harita-manjiri, hierba de cancer, Indian acalypha, Indramaris, Kuppigida, Kuppaimeni, Kuppu, Khokali, Muktajhuri, ricinela, Sveta-basanta, Vanchi Kanto, Khokli, Khajoti. Distribution and Habitat– originally from China, India, Taiwan, Central America and tropical Africa. Grows in shady places along rivers, on sandy soils, up to 1000 m altitude. Description– herbaceous annual, erect, 0.5-1 m high; stalks pubescent. Leaves: simple, alternate, membranous, or rhomboid-subovate ovata, 2-3.5 x 1.5-2.5 cm, pubescent; stipels triangulation, about 1 mm long. Flowers: monoecious, solitary blossom, 2-7 cm long, carry the abnormal peak flower stalk and flower axis are pubescent; bracteele ovat-triangulation are male or wide-triangulation, 0.5 mm long; bracts axillary with male flowers 5.7, pedicel about 0.5 mm long, calyx with 4 sepals long-ovat, 0.4 mm long, 8 stamens; 3.7 bracts, round-cord, about 5 mm long, shallow needle along the upper edges, glabra or very weak passwords, palmately ribbed obvious; bracteele axillary female flowers 1-2, 3 sepa triangulation, about 0.5 mm long, few cilia, ovary hairy, 5 segments divided stigma filiforme, Fruit: capsule, about 2 mm in diameter, pubescent.
