Scientific Name - Ajuga chamaepitys (L.) Schreber Synonyms - chamaepitys Teucrium L. Popular names - camepizio, bugola gialla, ground pine, yellow bugle. Distribution and Habitat - Euro-Mediterranean species, grows around the Mediterranean, in warm and dry, up to 1500 m altitude. Description - herbaceous annual, stem 5-30 cm, branched, densely glabra to viloasa. Leaves 3-partite with linear segments, trifid. Flowers 2-4 per node; calyx 4-6 mm, lobes longer or shorter than the tube, corolla yellow with red or purple spots. Blooms in April-May. Fruit 4-achenes, oval-oblunga.
