Scientific name - Hibiscus trionum L.

Distribution and Habitat - originating from southern and eastern Europe, along the streets, from plain to 2800 m altitude.

Description - annual species. Roots fibrous, can reach up to 100 cm depth. Stem erect, branched from the base, green to brown, cylindrical, ribbed, densely or sparsely pubescent, 75 cm height. Leaves alternate, densely or sparsely pubescent, sometimes Rosietici the edges, palmate lobate, 3 lobes, middle higher side lobes are divided iregulat-toothed, base truncata and easy cord; petiole 4 cm Lungime. Flowers solitary, in the armpit leaves, calyx gamosepal, campanulata, 5 sepa united, 2.5 cm long, with stellate hairs, striped purouri; Corola dialipetala, obovata, sulfuriu yellow, cream, white or yellow with a purple stain - Black center base, 7 cm diameter, anther yellow stamens numerous, united, 4 mm long. Growth rate - slowly.

Tolerances - drought support. Transplantation does not support very well.

Requirements - exhibitions sunny.

Management --

Propagation - by seeds is sown in the garden or in protected areas, and can transplant after danger of frost passes. The optimal temperature for seed germination is 10-40 ˚ C.

Diseases andpests - Hibiscus trionum host species is a mosaic of cucumber, of Bemisia tabaci and Earias insulana.

Hibiscus trionum may become invasive.

Boiled leaves of Hibiscus trionum are mucilaginous, almost tasteless. The seeds contain 22-24% oil.

Fresh leaves and flowers are eaten raw by people in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Australia and China. In Australia, the root is considered edible.
