Distribution and Habitat - and endemic species to extinction in Vietnam.

Description - evergreen tree. Leaves opposite, coriacee, oblong to elliptic-lanceolata, 8-18 x 2-4.5 cm, top acuminata, petiole 2-4 mm long. Male cones are cylindrical, grouped 3-4 at underarms, female cones are solitary, the armpit leaves. Mature cones are brown-violet, overall, 1.5-2.5 cm diameter, short pedunculate. Seeds global 1.5-1.8 cm diameter, blue-purple at maturity. 2n = 26

Properties and Uses - white wood, light, durable. It can be cultivated as ornamental species.
