Distribution and Habitat - originally from C, SE Europe, grows in shady coniferous forests.
Description - herbaceous perennial. Stem branched, 25-150 cm, pubescent. Amplexicaule leaves, elliptical, oblong or fidate, margin entire or Pinata-fidata, glauca. Flowers arranged in panicule, ligula flowers are purple, with 5 teeth, tubular flowers absent. Bracteele involucrului are arranged in 2-3 rows, 3-5 mm wide. Blooms in June-August. Fruit achenes cylindrical, truncated peak, 5-6.6 x 1.1-1.3 mm, thin-plate surface, doll simple 2-3 lines. 2n = 18
Propagation - by seeds.

Leaves alternate, Terni-compound, the last segment with red ribbed, oblong-elliptic; foliolele are ongust-ovata or elliptic, 8-12 x 2-4 cm. 6.10 cm long stalks
