Scientific name - Tagetes patula L.

Distribution and Habitat - originating in Mexico.

Description - herbaceous annual. Stem 12-45 cm high. Leaves opposite or subopuse, pinnate-compound; 9.12 Folio, lanceolata, 1-3 x 0.1-0.2 cm. Inflorescences are simple or semi-double, solitary. ≤ 10 cm long stalk. Involucre 1.2 x 0.6-0.7 cm, top acuminata. Corolla tube about 0.3 cm long, 0.5-0.8 cm long Ligue. Dolls acuminata, 0.6-0.7 mm long. Blooms in June-September.

Growth rate - moderate.

Requirements - well-drained soil, moist in full sun withshading in the morning.

Management - dried inflorescences break.

Propagation - by seeds, it looks as 6-8 weeks after last frost at 21-24 ˚ C. Germinate in 5-14 days. At approximately 10-15 days after germination can replant.

Diseases and pests - Botrytis, Meloidogyne.

Cultivars that attract butterflies: 'American Lady', Milbert's Tortoiseshell ', & lsquo; Skipper ',' West Coast Lady '.

Properties and Uses - Tagetes patula may be used against nematodes Pratylenchus sp., Rotylenchus sp. and Tylenchorchynchus sp., cultivated in plants affected.
