Distribution and Habitat - originally from India, China, Vietnam, Europe and South Africa. Description - herbaceous annual, prostrata, with branches 80 cm long. Paripenat-compound leaves, 4-8 folio, oblong folio, 4.12 x 4 mm. Sepa 2-4 mm long. Petals 3.6 mm long. Stigma pyramidal-elongated. Blooms in May-September. Fruit capsule, 4-8 mm long, with 2 divergent spine 3.8 mm long and 2 short spine 1-4 mm long. Seeds 2-4. Properties and Uses - mature and dried fruit were placed in the pharmacopoeia of medicinal plants in India, in 2002, as a diuretic.
